💡 Pro Tips¶
1. Reverse Engineering Momentum¶
Find Stocks Before They Pop
- Notice XLE (Energy) is top performer for 3 months
- Visit Jeff Quiggle → Energy industry
- Run scan on all energy stocks
- You'll catch the laggards about to catch up
2. Multi-Timeframe Confirmation¶
| Timeframe | Leader | Signal |
|---|---|---|
| 1-year | Technology | ✅ Short-term momentum |
| 3-year | Technology | ✅ Medium-term trend |
| 10-year | Healthcare | ⚠️ Secular shift happening? |
If a sector shows up in ALL timeframes = strong conviction trade.
3. Contrarian Plays¶
Watch for sectors that were top performers 1 year ago but dropped off the 3-month list. These can be: - ❌ Dead trends (avoid) - ✅ Consolidation before next leg (opportunity)
Use your scan to distinguish: If stocks in that sector still pass RS filters, it's likely consolidation.
