LNRSI Quad-Lock Visual Scanner¶
Chart Flipper Scanner
Add to chart, flip through your watchlist - stop when the screen turns GREEN. That's Quad-Lock.
Source Code¶
Overview¶
The Quad-Lock Scanner is designed for rapid watchlist screening. Instead of managing complex dashboard scripts, this indicator gives you an instant visual signal:
- 🟢 GREEN Background = All 4 timeframes aligned (Quad-Lock) - ANALYZE THIS SETUP
- ⬜ Normal/Gray = Mixed signals - SKIP, press Down Arrow
The Math Behind It¶
The scanner calculates four layers on every candle:
flowchart TD
A[Price / SPY Ratio] --> B[Stochastic Normalization<br/>0-100 scale over 78 bars]
B --> C[Fractals Energy<br/>Measures market choppiness]
C --> D[Laguerre Filter<br/>Smooths with zero lag]
D --> E{Value > Signal?}
E -->|Yes| F[BULLISH ✅]
E -->|No| G[BEARISH ❌] How to Use (Scanning Workflow)¶
Step-by-Step¶
- Add this script to your chart (5-minute timeframe)
- Open your Watchlist on the right side of TradingView
- Click the first stock
- Look at the screen:
- 🟢 GREEN? → Stop and analyze the setup
- ⬜ Normal? → Press Down Arrow key
- Repeat through your watchlist
Why This Works¶
| Traditional Dashboard | Quad-Lock Scanner |
|---|---|
| Complex multi-symbol scripts | Simple per-chart indicator |
| Resource heavy, slow | Lightning fast |
| Information overload | Binary decision: Green = Go |
| Hard to manage 100+ stocks | Flip through 100 stocks in minutes |
The Quad-Lock Conditions¶
The screen turns GREEN when all 4 timeframes are BULLISH:
| Timeframe | What It Checks |
|---|---|
| Current (5m) | Normalized RS > Signal Line |
| 15 Minute | Normalized RS > Signal Line |
| 1 Hour | Normalized RS > Signal Line |
| Daily | Normalized RS > Signal Line |
Information Table¶
The bottom-right table always shows WHY it's not Quad-Lock:
┌───────────┬───────┐
│ Timeframe │ Trend │
├───────────┼───────┤
│ 5m │ BULL │ ← Current chart
│ 15 │ BULL │ ✓ Aligned
│ 60 │ BEAR │ ✗ This is blocking!
│ D │ BULL │ ✓ Aligned
└───────────┴───────┘
This tells you: "The 1H is bearish - that's why no Quad-Lock."
Configuration¶
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Benchmark | SPY | Reference for relative strength |
| Lookback | 78 | Bars for normalization (78 = 1 full trading day on 5m) |
| tf1 | 15 | First higher timeframe |
| tf2 | 60 | Second higher timeframe |
| tf3 | D | Third higher timeframe (Daily) |
⚠️ Critical: Extended Hours Setting¶
TURN OFF Extended Hours
Use this indicator with Extended Hours TURNED OFF (RTH only).
Why Extended Hours Breaks the Math¶
1. The "78 Bar" Math Breaks¶
- Extended Hours OFF: 78 bars = exactly one trading day (6.5 hours)
- Extended Hours ON: 78 bars might only reach back to 4:00 AM - you lose "Yesterday vs Today" context
2. The "Ghost" Ratio Problem¶
| Time | SPY | AMD | Problem |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5:00 AM | Trading actively | Sleeping (no volume) | - |
| Result | SPY moves up | AMD stays flat | Math says "AMD crashing vs SPY!" |
| Reality | AMD isn't crashing | Just no trades | False bearish signal |
When market opens at 9:30 AM, the indicator whipsaws violently to correct itself.
3. Fractals Hate "Thin" Data¶
Pre-market price action is: - Gappy and jagged (low efficiency) OR - Completely flat (artificial high efficiency)
This feeds "garbage data" into the Laguerre filter.
How to Turn Off Extended Hours¶
Bottom right of TradingView chart: - Switch EXT → REG - Or uncheck "Extended Trading Hours" in chart settings
Pro Tip
If you want to see pre-market Highs/Lows (they're important levels), draw horizontal lines manually or use a separate "Session Breaks" indicator. Keep your Quad-Lock scanner on RTH data only.
The Quad-Lock Momentum Strategy¶
Entry Conditions (Long/Call Options)¶
- ✅ Dashboard Check: At least ¾ timeframes show "BULL" (Green)
- ✅ Background Check: Chart background is GREEN (total confluence)
- ✅ Zone Breach: 5-minute Laguerre Line crosses:
- Above 0.2 = "Turnaround Play" (Higher Reward, Lower Win Rate)
- Above 0.8 = "Momentum Breakout" (High Win Rate, Lower Reward)
Entry Trigger¶
- ⏳ Wait for candle close (never enter mid-candle)
- ✅ Blue Line must be above Orange Signal Line
- 🎯 Buy: ITM or ATM Calls, 7-14 DTE
Stop Loss¶
| Type | Trigger | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Hard Stop | Blue Line crosses below Orange Line | Exit immediately |
| Catastrophic Stop | Background turns RED | Exit immediately |
Profit Taking¶
| Target | Condition | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Target 1 | Blue Line hits 1.0 (or flattens) | Sell 50% |
| Target 2 | Blue Line crosses below Orange | Sell remaining |
Expert Nuances¶
1. The "Lookback" Rule¶
For day trading, use 78 bars (one full trading day). This ensures you're buying the DAY's leaders, not just the last hour's lucky winner.
2. The "Morning Fake-out"¶
Avoid First 15 Minutes
Skip signals from 9:30 - 9:45 AM. The Relative Strength calculation needs data to stabilize. Let the market pick a direction first.
3. The "Divergence" Trap¶
| Price Action | Laguerre NormRS | Signal |
|---|---|---|
| Higher High ↑ | Higher High ↑ | ✅ Valid momentum |
| Higher High ↑ | Lower High ↓ | ❌ DIVERGENCE - Bull trap! |
If price is making new highs but the indicator isn't, the stock is losing power relative to SPY. Do NOT buy.
Alerts¶
| Alert | Trigger |
|---|---|
| Quad-Lock Active | All 4 timeframes bullish |
| Quad-Lock Lost | Any timeframe turns bearish |
